Katrina's Story

I grew up in China, where TCM practices were woven into our daily lives and traditions. I fondly remember helping my grandmother brew cooling herbal tea on hot summer days and eating stomach-soothing congee the day after a rich Chinese New Year feast. Yang-Sheng, or TCM preventative self-care, instructs us to adjust our diet and lifestyle according to the seasons and our health conditions and TCM treatments like acupuncture are used to treat disease and balance the mind, body, and spirit. The integration of TCM into our lives was so organic that many times we didn’t even realize we were practicing it.

As a young adult, I moved to the United States to obtain a master’s degree in business. During school, I interned as a marketing specialist for an acupuncturist on Long Island. I was surprised to see how his patients, mostly American, embraced and were helped by TCM. After school, I moved to Boston to work as a marketing data analyst in a different field. A couple of years of working in front of a computer caused me chronic neck and back pain. All the tests from my primary care physician came back normal and they did not have much to recommend. I decided to turn to TCM. A combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine helped me tremendously and I decided to switch my career path: I wanted to help people by sharing my understanding of TCM wisdom and holistic healing.

Today, I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in Arizona. I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. I firmly believe in integrating a range of therapies to prevent and treat disease and promote optimal health. I am passionate about helping you reach your optimal health goals, and I can't wait to walk with you through this journey
