Coming from a rich Chinese cultural background, where Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practices were deeply ingrained in daily life and traditions, I have cherished memories of assisting my grandmother in brewing cooling herbal tea during sweltering summer days and partaking in stomach-soothing congee the day after indulging in a lavish Chinese New Year feast. TCM's principle of Yang-Sheng, emphasizing preventive self-care, guided us to adapt our diet and lifestyle in accordance with the seasons and our individual health conditions. TCM treatments, such as acupuncture, were employed to address ailments, restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit, and promote overall well-being. The seamless integration of TCM into our lives was so intrinsic that oftentimes we were unaware of its influence. As a young adult, I moved to the United States to obtain a master’s degree in business. During school, I interned as a marketing specialist for an acupuncturist on Long Island. I was surprised to see how his patients, mostly American, embraced and were helped by TCM. After school, I moved to Boston to work as a marketing data analyst in a different field. A couple of years of working in front of a computer caused me chronic neck and back pain. All the tests from my primary care physician came back normal and they did not have much to recommend. I decided to turn to TCM. A combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine helped me tremendously and I decided to switch my career path: I wanted to help people by sharing my understanding of TCM wisdom and holistic healing. Today, I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in Arizona. I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. I firmly believe in integrating a range of therapies to prevent and treat disease and promote optimal health. I am passionate about helping you reach your optimal health goals, and I can't wait to walk with you through this journey

Having been born and raised in China, where the rich culture emphasized the use of herbal remedies, food therapies, and physical therapy for healthcare in daily life, I developed a profound curiosity about the ancient wisdom of traditional practitioners and their pursuit of longevity and optimal health. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to study under a traditional holistic healer in China, embarking on a formal training journey. During this time, my focus was primarily on delving deep into traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese nutrition, and Qi Gong, a practice rooted in the cultivation and flow of Qi, the very foundation of acupuncture. Subsequently, I relocated to the United States and spent nearly six years working at an esteemed herb shop. This invaluable experience exposed me to a diverse range of natural healing modalities, such as Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aromatherapy, and Western nutrition, among others. This immersive engagement not only equipped me with a comprehensive approach to addressing local health concerns through various healing paths but also allowed me to discover the potential for integration between holistic and Western medicine. Upon settling in Tucson, I enrolled in the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, where I dedicated myself to earning a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Now a licensed Acupuncturist in Arizona, I synergistically combine my extensive background in natural healing with the knowledge and skills acquired through my formal education. This enables me to provide compassionate and tailored care to each of my clients, working collaboratively to achieve outcomes that align with their unique needs. My treatment repertoire encompasses a range of modalities, including acupuncture, the use of both Eastern and Western herbs, cupping, moxibustion, and nutritional guidance. With utmost dedication and a commitment to excellence, I strive to be a trusted partner in your healthcare journey, supporting your well-being through an integrated approach that honors both ancient wisdom and contemporary medical advancements.

From a young age, I started seeking out holistic remedies as a way to cope with mental health challenges. This started with movement, Qi cultivation, and herbal medicine. When I first read about acupuncture, I was beyond fascinated and felt a magnetic pull to this incredible field. I studied everything I could find on it and decided that I wanted to take my interest and education more seriously and dedicate my life to learning this medicine. After completing my undergraduate studies, I was accepted into the Master’s program at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. One of the aspects I appreciate most about this medicine is its inherent nature to treat everyone as a unique individual and not a set of symptoms. I truly enjoy the process of finding the root of each person’s symptoms. As a movement artist and practitioner, I have a keen interest in biomechanics and how the body is designed to move, which allows me to approach treatments with a well-rounded perspective. My treatments consist of several modalities, including cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, shiatsu, and myofascial release techniques. I also offer holistic skin care services, such as facial acupuncture, facial cupping & gua sha, and microneedling. I am passionate, dedicated, and eternally grateful to be able to practice this medicine. I will always strive to provide the best care possible and am excited to support you on your journey.

I continued my education in nursing and holistic care, graduating in Colorado in 2013, where I took my examination with the MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination). I continued my education and specialties at Denver Integrative Massage School, where I specialized in Thai Massage for the Table and became Medical Massage certified. I am experienced in: Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Techniques, Thai Massage for the Table, Sports Massage, Lomi-Lomi Hawaiian Massage, Prenatal Massage, Cupping Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Trigger Point Therapy. Originally from California, Janelle trained in massage therapy at Mueller College and has been a licensed massage therapist for more than 15 years, with a foundation in working with military clients and athletes. She describes herself as “the glue for your Humpty Dumpty”. She is most at home working with clients who have chronic and repetitive-strain issues or migraines, and with injury and sports rehabilitation and mobility goals. Her style is a firmer, therapeutic touch, so clients looking for a very light, relaxing massage may be better matched with another therapist. Janelle has worked in day spas, chiropractic offices and medical acupuncture offices, and most recently with an Air Force fighter squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB. She has run a mobile practice since 2011, first in California and then in Arizona, and has taught at a local massage school. She works with several Tucson doulas to offer prenatal and postnatal massage, holds certifications in Cupping and in Acoustic and Vibrational Therapy, and also practices Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi, Thai, Deep Tissue, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Sports massage, Structural Integration, Aromatherapy and Myofascial Release (MFR). Every session begins with a thorough intake, and Janelle asks for feedback during and after the session so she can keep tailoring her work, using a 1–10 scale to check in on both your discomfort and the pressure of her bodywork. Supportive, knowledgeable and versatile, she will remind you to breathe, challenge you, give you homework, and stretch and laugh with you. Outside of work, cooking is her love language, so don’t be surprised if you leave with a new dinner idea.
